Resting on a hill surrounded by natural greenery, Bukit Bantayan Residences is a highland retreat development which required a tailored approach to its architectural and outdoor lighting needs. A team experienced in building exterior and outdoor lighting drew up the initial lighting master plan and luminaire recommendations with a focus on mitigating the effects of long-term exposure to direct sunlight, strong winds and high humidity.

The team had to be agile in adapting to site conditions and modifying design and installation strategies to ensure worker safety as well as minimize replacement and maintenance frequency. Our commitment to greening cities with lighting technology meant softening the impact of the outdoor lighting on the local hillside wildlife. Through our international network of lighting partners, we sourced luminaires with colour temperatures below 3,000 Kelvins to limit light pollution while keeping areas surrounding the high-rise adequately lit at night.

To manage energy consumption, we built automation, light- and motion-sensing capabilities into the lighting master plan.
